Letterpress Printing & Book Making
On-going class for any level of printer and/or book maker, beginning to experienced. My studio is a fully equipped, old-fashioned printshop & bindery with over 300 cases of type, a platen press, Vandercook presses, guillotine cutter, board shear, &c. Printing on the Platen Press
Beginners and experienced students alike will learn how to design and plan for printing on the platen press through a group project. You’ll then test your skills by completing a project of your own. All the steps from typesetting to press clean-up will be covered, as well as the feeding and care of the platen press. The Book as Art
Learn basic book making techniques to produce one-of-a-kind books and/or small editions. Create unusual book structures in hard and soft cover bindings, sewn and/or glued, with pop-ups, cut-outs, &c. Letterpress Printing

A Book in a Box
An introduction to techniques and materials of the venerable craft of bookbinding: sew, fold and bind a hardcover blank book, then measure and construct a box in which to house it.
